What’s New?

By Katie Lynn Johnston

Get ready for some exciting new additions to the magazine!

Mulberry will soon be the ripe age of three.

When I started this magazine mere months before the pandemic struck in January of 2019, I would never have expected it to reach so many people and to have had the honor of reading and showcasing so many fantastic stories, poems, and works of art for all to see.

The work I have had the chance to read over the past two issues still blows me away, and I am honored to announce some exciting additions to the magazine for the new year.

With our third issue on the horizon, we’ve been focusing on how to give back to the community of artists and writers who have become a part of Mulberry Literary.

With a hope to one day be able to pay all our contributors, we have implemented an optional expedited submission response time in which you can make a donation of $3 to Mulberry Literary to receive your response letter within two weeks.

We have also created the Fresh Voices Award which offers an honorary prize to three outstanding writers or artists we publish, starting with Issue III. A winner and two runner-ups chosen out of the accepted and published works will receive a cash prize and a special mention on our social media. All who submit to Issue III are eligible for the award. Winners will be notified before the publication of the issue. (To learn more, about the guidelines for the award, click here.)

Submissions for Issue III open soon! Keep your eyes peeled for more updates—we can’t wait to read and share your work!
